In premarital counseling, I aid couples in the exciting and challenging transition into a marital relationship. We work together to identify potential hurdles or obstacles to this transition, including feelings of anxiety, pressure, and emotional distress. I assist couples in exploring their relationship strengths, improving communication and conflict resolution skills, and discussing important topics which may have been previously avoided or unidentified. I also guide couples in an exploration of family of origin issues as they pertain to their relationship.
